A Churro Haven Since the 1940s
February 7, 2024
One of the most traditional dishes not only in Spain but also in many Latin American countries is churros. This small establishment, where it’s best to take your order to-go, has been serving churros since the 1940s when it was opened by Cecilia Martinez and her husband. Today, their grandchildren manage the place.
Initially, they only made churros and hot chocolate, and the recipes for these have hardly changed over the years. However, keeping up with the times, the establishment expanded its menu. Now, you can find filled churros, chuchos, anise-flavored pestiños, doughnuts with milk cream, and even chips, pork cracklings, and croquettes.
It’s delightful that this place has preserved the traditions of churro and hot chocolate preparation, offering visitors an authentic taste experience dating back to the 1940s. The diversified menu, including various churro fillings and other treats, caters to a diverse audience, showcasing the flexibility and readiness to adapt to changing tastes and preferences.
Here’s to hoping that this spot will continue delighting its guests with delicious treats and maintain its unique history for many years to come.
